Soul, Country, Blues & Americana – Lauren Housley is not be missed next weekend
Don’tcha think everyone sounds the same these days – well meet Lauren Housley, and we can argue that point later. Lauren won’t be right in the centre of your radar but she ought to be, and you can catch her at The Stables in Milton Keynes next Friday.
Fresh from two compelling shows at O2’s BluesFest, Lauren’s unique blend of Nashville flavoured-soul marks her out as very much the ‘one to watch’ for 2016, as evidenced by both her Live Nation and Radio 2 support.
Lauren’s debut album Sweet Surrender is an all-killer, no-filler affair, with a number of tracks, already either play-listed or on prime spot play, at Radio 2 by the likes of Chris Evans, Terry Wogan, Jeremy Vine, Bob Harris, Robert Elms etc, all of whom know a good tune when they hear one…
Now Lauren, a true up-and-comer in 2016, will bring her fresh blues-soul brand to The Stables in Milton Keynes on Friday 27th May. With doors at 8:30 and tickets at only £10 plus booking fee, this night is not be missed. You can book now by clicking here.
Lauren will continue to attract a legion of supporters, industry and otherwise, from the ‘world of blues’ by dint of her emotive vocals, steeped in gospel/blues/soul phrasing, and her honest, sincere and personal song writing. Hers is singing and songwriting of such a standard that it will be equally appealing to mainstream audiences too, as indeed proved by her current radio support. Her single ‘Nice To See Ya’ is currently playlisted on BBC Radio London.
Do yourself a favour and get out and see Lauren and her band next week, after all she has left you enough time to go home and get out of your work gear first. Lauren’s brand is refreshing to say the least, and whilst it will mix up your music catalogue, her sound is a gorgeous blend of everything you’ve had your trust in long enough. Don’t forget you can find all of our gig listings week by week on our Live This Week page.
